Medicare and senior insurance help in Florida

Florida has one of the oldest populations in the country and some of the most crowded Medicare Advantage markets. Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville each have dozens of plan choices, and the right one often comes down to which hospital system you trust and whether you spend part of the year up north.

Our Florida sites focus on those local questions. Use this page to find the one for your area.

Cities

Our Florida locations

  • Orlando, FL

Central Florida runs on two big health systems, AdventHealth and Orlando Health, and most Medicare Advantage plans here lean toward one or the other. If your doctors all sit in one system, that narrows your list fast.

Counties: Orange County, Seminole County, Osceola County

  • Tampa, FL

The Tampa Bay area spans three counties with very different plan lists. Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco each have their own Advantage options, and a plan built around Tampa General may not cover BayCare doctors across the bay.

Counties: Hillsborough County, Pinellas County, Pasco County

  • Jacksonville, FL

Jacksonville seniors often ask one question first: can I keep seeing my doctors at Mayo Clinic? Mayo's Florida campus sits on the city's south side, and network access varies a lot from plan to plan.

Counties: Duval County, Clay County, St. Johns County, Nassau County

Florida Medicare questions

I split the year between Florida and another state. Which plan type fits?
Many part-year residents lean toward Original Medicare with a Medigap plan, since it works with any doctor that takes Medicare nationwide. Most Advantage plans limit routine care to a local network.
Who gives free Medicare counseling in Florida?

Do Florida plans cover hurricane-related disruptions?
During a declared emergency, Medicare can relax some plan rules, like letting you get care out of network or refill drugs early. Your plan's member services line can confirm what applies.
